Goin Campin

Eric and I and our friend Mary (you may know her from the comments section!) are going camping at Cumberland Island this weekend. Can't wait.

Let's just hope the bugs aren't too bad and the raccoons don't eat our food and we don't run over an armadillo (affectionately know as "possum on the half shell") and it doesn't rain and we don't get Lyme disease or bitten by a wild horse. Did I leave anything out? Well, even if any of those things do happen it will all be well worth it because it is so beautiful there.

Posted are pictures of our last camping trip to Cumberland, as you can see the tree climbing is fantastic! Eric is going to have a blast with that.I"ll be back on Monday with lots of pictures I'm sure. Have a great weekend!

Graduation

Here is my favorite picture from graduation. My Mom in all her lovely baldness (yeah! for the last chemo treatment) giving Jordi a big smooch after the graduation ceremony. This picture shows exactly how my Mom feels about all her grandchildren.

She has kissed them and loved them and read to them and accepted each and every one of them for exactly who they are since the day they were born and they are all so lucky.

Thanks Mom!

It was a fun day, it is always nice to have a little party with your favorite people and have good food (and a cigar for Nancy) and celebrate a major milestone. And the leftovers are great too.

Cleaning?

I'm supposed to clean the house this week. Its Thursday, and I haven't made any headway.
I have all the ingredients for cleaning the carpets:

1) 2 vacuum cleaners lying in wait

2) soap for the steam cleaner

3) dirty carpets
What am I waiting for? Divine inspiration? Yes. I am waiting for divine inspiration.
I'll be waiting awhile.

Eric

My mind has been blank all day as to what to post, but thankfully Eric provided me with this picture. I'm working on a tutorial, and hope to have that up soon. In the meantime, I'm tickled that this crazy face will be staring at anyone who comes here!

The Latest Third Grade Phase

This is the "latest thing" in 3rd grade, as described to me by Eric this morning. When I participated, I opted to kiss Spider man. Not so bad, I've always thought Toby Maguire was cute. I definitely would want to kiss the Toby Maguire Spider man, and not the generic Marvel Spider man. Eric wouldn't tell me his results from the survey. I have my suspicions........

And so today is Friday. I'll leave you with the eternal question. Is it possible for anyone besides me to wipe off the counter or pick up a pair of dirty socks?

Boy In A Bubble

This picture of Eric's reflection in a bubble, while blowing bubbles on the boat was taken a couple of weeks ago before my weekends were hijacked by unsuccessful Craft Fair adventures. (That was a long sentence.)He was using dish soap, not very diluted, so the bubbles lasted a long time after they landed, long enough for me to get some pictures. That was a fun weekend.

I took this weekend off from just about everything. No sewing, cooking, or cleaning, I even napped on the couch while watching "Mary Poppins" so I think my brain has just gone on pause for a bit. I hit complete burnout, and I'm glad it happened on Mother's Day weekend, so I had an excuse not to do anything. Well, I did get this blog post in, under the wire.
Happy Mother's Day, and happy Monday in advance.

Remember Field Day?

Now that have T-shirts that say "Field Day" in case you somehow forgot the reason you are running up and down the field is because of "Field Day". That is how public school is nowadays, they make everything painfully PC. But they do have more Popsicles involved, which is a good thing.

A lot of Lasts

Lately I have been attending a lot of last things. Last night was the last Band Concert for Jordi. It was good! Of course the band director was pandering to the parents when he chose "The 80's Medley", I just remember playing "Pictures At An Exhibition." Why didn't I bring my camera? I don't know. I'm resorting to showing you the picture from two years ago when Mom and Dad came to the Spring concert.

Now, I just have to wait 4 more years for Eric to start Band. He says he wants to be in the Drum Corps....

Who Knew Honors Day Could Be So Much Fun?

Well. it wasn't exactly fun. It was mainly long since Jordi insists they gave EVERYONE an award, just like the 3rd grade soccer team awards. I don't know, I just showed up with my camera and missed the real shot, but got this one instead.
